6 Acre Pond & Dock

Project Overview

The property owner wanted a reliable water retention pond that could serve multiple purposes—improving drainage, supporting local wildlife, and creating a scenic feature. The site had poor soil conditions and required extensive excavation and stabilization to ensure long-term success.

Our Process

1. Site Preparation & Excavation

We began by clearing and grading the site, ensuring proper water flow. Using heavy excavation equipment, we shaped the pond, carefully cutting the slopes and depths to maximize water retention and stability.

2. Soil Enhancement & Lining

Since the existing soil had high permeability, we brought in high-quality clay material to reinforce the pond bed. We also used bentonite clay to further enhance seepage prevention, ensuring the pond could effectively hold water long-term.

3. Spillway & Drainage Installation

To protect against overflow and erosion, we installed a spillway system to regulate water levels. Proper drainage controls were incorporated to ensure that excess water could safely exit the pond without damaging surrounding land.

4. Final Touches & Project Completion

Once the pond structure was complete, we finished the surrounding landscape with grading and erosion control measures. The result? A functional and picturesque pond that blends seamlessly into the property, offering water retention benefits and a stunning visual feature.
